A content management system (CMS) is an application that allows you, the website owner, full control over the content of your website, without any technical knowledge.  The system provides you, through user-friendly screens with the ability to update your website and keep it fresh and alive, whilst insulating you from the underlying technology.  Content management systems are easy to use.  If you can use Word, you can use a CMS.
